A WARM WELCOME FROM EVERYONE AT THE ORTHODONTIC OFFICE OF DR KIMMEL!
Chers patientes, patients, parents,

OUR COMMITMENTS
HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS
We stress that we are specialised healthcare professionals with three years of additional training. Like any healthcare profession, and thanks to this extensive training:
- Our first priority is to do no harm.
- Our second objective is to improve our patient’s health.
- Although aesthetic improvement is one of our main goals, it is considered only after the first two commitments.
- Offering treatments available to all.
- Following our Code of Ethics .
- Offering treatments, for which the costs are applied with tact and reason..
- Considering the patient as a whole, including body, soul and mind , thus requiring an overall vision of the treatment, fully respecting the patient and recognising the complexity of humans .
PERSONALISED TREATMENTS
- No single technique, to be applied to everyone.
- On a case-by-case basis, using a wide range of orthopaedic and orthodontic systems, we provide the best care possible.
- Through medical and paramedical training that is complementary to our profession, we strive to place our diagnosis and care within the context of an in-depth comprehension of our patient’s physiology and psychology..
- We take a cross-disciplinary approach. One such discipline is posturology. Due to its neurosensory nature, the dental system is interdependent with the eyes (ophtalmo-posturology), the feet (podiatry) and the musculo-tendon-joint system (functional rehabilitation, osteopathy, physiotherapy), language (speech therapy, Padovan method), and energy.
FOCUSING ON PEOPLE
-
Human relations are at the heart of the work we do. We know that people are complex. Every individual has a body, a mind, a soul and a heart, with a unique personality and individuality.
-
Our top priority is to listen to our patients, to understand what they want .
-
We are determined to respect our patients’ physical integrity and help them regain their physical and psychological health.
-
Thanks to a comprehensive initial questionnaire, which is often intriguing to our new arrivals, we try to place the pathology for which our patients are consulting us into the context of traumatic events in their past. This naturally leads us to have a cross-disciplinary vision of our therapeutic approach.
-
In many cases, treating our patients means involving other practitioners, such as dentists, ophthalmologists, doctors, osteopaths, chiropractors, podiatrists, speech therapists, psychotherapists, naturopaths, practitioners of Chinese medicine, and more.
-
The work we do is greatly enriched for us, and, we hope, for our patients, by a sense of curiosity, the rewarding conversations we have, and, finally, the uniqueness of each person.
-
Each day brings new excitement and enthusiasm.
ORTHODONTIC TREATMENTS
We offer a full range of orthodontic treatments, for your health. The health of your mouth and the position of your teeth require good functions: chewing, breathing and speaking, and a good position of your tongue, cheeks and lips while performing these functions.
You’ll get your smile back!
AN INTERDISCIPLINARY APPROACH INCORPORATING COMPLEMENTARY MEDICINES
At our office, we carry out personalised posturology and osteopathy diagnoses, which enable us to have a more holistic vision of our patients while continuing to provide orthodontic care.
We thus work with numerous outside practitioners situated within this cross-cutting approach.
WELLBEING AT OUR OFFICE
Our team of practitioners, assistants and secretaries know how to listen.
We will help you with the technical treatment choices and the administrative procedures.
We guarantee asepsis, irreproachable hygiene practices, and high-performance professional equipment.
TRAITEMENT D’ÉDUCATION FONCTIONNELLE
- FOR EVERYONE
- INVISIBLE
- WORN IN THE EVENING AND AT NIGHT
- 12 TO 24 MONTHS
This type of treatment is for children, teens and sometimes adults.
These treatments can also be used before braces or in parallel
They are used for improving the orofacial functions (swallowing, breathing, chewing, speaking, tongue function, etc.) and and reducing anterior-posterior or lateral space between the jaws.
These are removable appliances.
TREATMENT WITH INVISIBLE ALIGNERS (REMOVABLE)
- FOR TEENS AND ADULTS
- INVISIBLE
- WORN CONTINUOUSLY
- 6 TO 24 MONTHS
This treatment repositions the teeth with invisible aligners worn 22 hours a day (removed during meals only).
It is mainly for adults.
It is recommended for small – and medium and misalignment of the jaws.
LINGUAL TREATMENT (FIXED)
- FOR ADULTS
- Invisible
- WORN CONTINUOUSLY
- 12 TO 24 MONTHS
This is a fixed treatment in which bands are positioned on the inside of the teeth (lingual side).
This type of treatment is recommended for adults who want invisible braces.
The bands are personalised pour chaque patient, for each patient, which explains the higher cost.
Oral hygiene requires much more attention and et de meticulousness.
BRACES
- FOR TEENS AND ADULTS
- VISIBLE OR SLIGHTLY VISIBLE
- WORN CONTINUOUSLY
- 18 TO 24 MONTHS
This treatment concerns teens and adults.
At the office, we use bands that exert light forces to move your teeth with the least possible discomfort.
The bands can be ceramic (colour of the teeth) or metal and placed on the front of the teeth.
EARLY TREATMENT
- FOR CHILDREN AS YOUNG AS 4
- SLIGHTLY VISIBLE
- WORN CONTINUOUSLY
- 12 MONTHS
Preventive treatment using removable appliances for:
-
- harmonising the dental arches
- preventing the need to extract permanent teeth
- correcting orofacial functions to enable them to develop favourably: swallowing, breathing, chewing, speaking and tongue function
Jaw growth is more harmonious, so that later, heavier treatments can be avoided.
Make an appointment for your child as early as age 4, for a check-up.
TEMPOROMANDIBULAR JOINTS
- FOR TEENS AND ADULTS
- Invisible
- WORN CONTINUOUSLY
- 6 TO 12 MONTHS
The temporomandibular joints (TMJ) are the joints of the jawbone.Pain, clicking, and muscular tensions can require treatment.
We offer dental splints that are usually worn on the lower teeth to prevent contact between the teeth and to regain a myocentric (relaxed) position of the jaw..
This releases muscle tension in the face, neck and back, and even in the body as a whole.
Posture analysis can supplement this treatment, because these dysfunctions can cause or be the consequence of disorders in other areas of the body.
ORTHOPAEDIC TREATMENT
- FOR CHILDREN AND TEENS
- SLIGHTLY VISIBLE
- WORN IN THE EVENING AND AT NIGHT OR CONTINUOUSLY
- 12 TO 18 MONTHS
This treatment uses a removable device involving both jaws to:
-
- affect the bone growth of the jaw
- harmonise the muscle functions of chewing and swallowing, and of lip tone
- improve nasal breathing
- enlarge the dental arches
Some patients need to wear these devices continuously, whereas others wear them in the evening and at night.
BEFORE THE TREATMENT
Dentists teach their patients of all ages about good oral hygiene. The health of your mouth, teeth and their environment is fragile. You have to fight cavities, periodontal disease and dental erosion. Before starting any orthodontic treatment, you need to have good oral health.
Right in the office, Dr Christine Bonnot, a UFSBD member, provides you with her prevention skills and sets up a personalised oral hygiene programme for you. Your participation is crucial for the success of the treatment: brushing, using interdental brushes, flossing, etc.
DURING THE TREATMENT
Hygiene with aligners and splints
- Brushing your teeth after removing the aligner or splint, after each meal or snack
- Flossing
- Brushing and rinsing your aligner or splint with cold water
- • Regular dental check-ups
Hygiene with braces
- Brushing your teeth with a soft toothbrush with a short, narrow head, twice a day for 2 minutes
- Interdental brushes, inserted underneath the wires to clean the tooth around the bands properly
- Plaque disclosing liquid: use occasionally to check how effectively you are brushing your teeth
- Avoid hard foods and sticky foods
- Regular dental check-ups
Hygiene with removable appliances
- Brush twice a day
- Brush the appliance and clean it daily with a toothbrush used only for this purpose
- Soak the appliance in diluted lemon juice for 30 minutes, once or twice a week
- Regular dental check-ups
OSTEOPATHY
Osteopathy is a clinical medical discipline that treats the human body, considered as a whole. Osteopathy is divided up into several areas:
- Structural osteopathy, which examines the osteo-musculo-articular system. It underpins the postural diagnosis and demonstrates the link between the skull and the rest of the body.
- Craniosacral osteopathy defines the biomechanical concepts involved in skull growth and explains a large number of growth pathologies, dental malocclusions and dysfunctions.
- Visceral osteopathy is just as important for us, because the mouth is the entrance to the digestive system and one of the entrances of the postural system.
- Biodynamic osteopathy goes further in the concept of the bodily and energy unity of the physical body and of the subtle body.
Through our osteopathic treatment, but also in collaboration with osteopaths and chiropractors, we believe that we provide our patients with more in-depth care.
POSTUROLOGY
Current scientific data have shown that the mouth contributes to the overall balance of the body.
This is why, if necessary, we conduct posture tests to determine if the occlusion is disrupting the patient’s general posture or not. These tests are conducted before the treatment begins, during the treatment and at the end of the treatment.
Sometimes we change and adapt a treatment if the patient experiences pain, or if a healthcare professional alerts us to a problem that occurs during the treatment, such as emerging scoliosis, migraines, neck pain, tension not caused by an impact or a fall, etc.
Our patients’ general equilibrium is our priority.
AROMATHERAPY
Essential oils used in special mixtures restore the flow of energy and revitalise the acupuncture meridians.
We have a protocol based on the teeth and tests to find the right aroma frequency. This protocol was developed by various therapists: dentists, doctors, acupuncturists, aromatherapists and practitioners of Chinese medicine.
This technique is based on the ancestral knowledge of Taoist Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), about energy and plants.
The teeth and their supporting structures are true energy stores, in direct contact with the flows of energy. They can be blocked by physical, psychological or mental aspects.
Indeed, in addition to undergoing orthodontic treatments, you may be able to harness your body’s energy to help improve the alignment of your teeth. In any case, it helps us eliminate blockages.
ELECTRO-PHOTOLUMINESCENCE
Orthodontics is a healthcare profession. Teeth, gums, ligaments, muscles, bones, blood, interstitial liquids and cells; everything thrives in a balanced environment of water, minerals, trace elements and heavy metals. Cellular and biochemical exchanges must not be disturbed by excessive or insufficient concentrations of certain elements, in order to achieve homoeostasis (a harmonious balance).
Right in our office, we can test you to see if you have too many heavy metals in your body, or if you have a deficiency in certain trace elements.
Based on the test results, we will orient you towards dentists, doctors or naturopaths who can help you adjust this surplus or deficiency.
A small step for your body; a big step for your health.
STEP 1
A DIGITAL IMPRESSION IS TAKEN WITH AN INTRAORAL SCANNER
This provides an instant, 3D view of your teeth and mouth without the need to take an impression with putty
The precision of the impression and of the subsequent treatment requires a clean environment.
This is why we may need to carry out local cleaning of your teeth.
STEP 2
DESIGN AND VIRTUAL VIEW
Study of the impressions
Diagnosis of mouth anomalies
Establishment of potential therapeutic strategies
The data are sent to the prosthetist for computer-assisted manufacture of the appliances
STEP 3
EXPLANATION OF THE TREATMENT AND FITTING OF THE ORTHODONTIC APPLIANCE
The 3D image helps the patient understand and visualise the treatment.
The patient is motivated by the visualisation, both of how the treatment will proceed and of the end result.
